"Ha, I got you now Matthew, you are out of this game," Kaian thought looking at his hand of cards,
"a perfect winner now"
Kaian started laughing out loud.
"You lose Matthew! Read em and weep," he said laying
down his cards to show him a Straight Flush.
Matthew's expression didn't change much, he simply smirked at the cards
Kaian placed on the table in front of him.
"Oh really? I'll read em, but I think you will be the one that'll be weeping,"
Matthew told him.
Matthew laid down his cards and showed Kaian a Royal Flush.
"NO WAY!" Kaian said in dismay,
"Damn,"
"You lose, now I'll just be taking my payment now," Matthew smiled holding his hand out.
"Damn you,
I had that game won," Kaian muttered placing a bundle of money in Matthew's hand.
"Is this ten-thousand dollars?"
Matthew asked flipping through the hundred dollar bills.
"Yeah," Kaian sighed with the sound of a poor loser in his
voice.
"Don't feel bad Kaian, I'll go and buy us drinks, how's that sound? We'll go to a bar, we'll play pool or something,
then we'll get wasted," Matthew said putting the money in his pocket.
"Fine," Kaian replied sounding a little cheered
up.
They both stood up left the table and walked out the door of Kaian's Mafia Headquarters. Outside it was humid
and hot, but the wind cooled the temperature down to an extent, they walked among the street light lit sidewalk towards a
bar that wasn't too far from where they were now.
"You know Kaian, losing isn't all that bad, you just have to deal
with it, I've felt what it's like to lose a game or something, and another thing. Kaian, I'm sorry I've been watching you
and Kaolla from outside your window, if you can't deal with losing, then at least try to forgive me," Matthew told him.
"...I
forgive you Matthew, but...just don't do it again," Kaian replied.
A silence fell over them until they reached the
bar.
"We're here, and it's about time too," Kaian said opening the door and walking inside with Matthew following
behind him.
They went over to the counter and sat down.
"Evening, what can I get you guys?" The barkeeper
asked.
"Give me the quickest drink to get drunk off you have," Kaian told him.
"That'll be vodka,"
"I'll
have the same," Matthew said.
"Alright then," he said turning around.
A few moments later they got their drinks
and both stood up, went over to a table that was somewhat further away from the rest of the people and sat down.
"I
guess this is a retreat, damn, tomorrow I'll have to take care of the kids, it's gonna be hell, sometimes I wonder why I ever
wanted kids in the first place," Kaian complained drinking his vodka.
"Well at least you have something to look forward
to tomorrow," Matthew replied also drinking his.
"Why what are you doing?" Kaian asked.
"Nothing as usual,
maybe I'll just go outside, I haven't been in the sun for so long," Matthew answered.
"Hmm, well, whatever let's just get drunk already," Kaian said with a smile.
An hour
passed and both of them were now affected by their orders.
"Yeah, that girl I was with, before, I forgot her name,"
Kaian said scratching his head.
"Oh, you mean that...uh, person with those card things and that stick?" Matthew asked.
"Yeah, but I forgot her name, oh well she's hot that's all that matters," Kaian answered, "what about you, who do
you find to be hot?"
"That, uhh... I dunno, a lot of people," Matthew told him.
"Just name anyone,"
"Okay,
that...uh, oh! Right! That Seung Mina chick, she's hot," Matthew replied.
"She's from that game right? What's it called...uh...Soul
something, ah who cares, anyway...who could forget about my own, Kaolla, she is really great...hey, speaking of Kaolla, why
were you always looking through our window anyway?" Kaian asked.
Matthew finished another drink while Kaian asked
that question; he stared into the empty glass and muttered something just loud enough for Kaian to hear, but not clearly.
"What did you say?" Kaian asked.
"Hm, nothing," Matthew said shaking his head and looking around for a waitress,
unfortunately there was none that he could see.
"Okay seriously, what did you say?" Kaian asked again, this time sounding
more demanding.
Matthew sighed and looked at Kaian right in the eyes.
"You know, you're pretty hot too," Matthew
said to him, while finally spotting a waitress and calling her over.
Matthew ordered another drink and the waitress
walked off, Kaian was still sitting there quiet when finally he said.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
Matthew
yawned and leaned back on his chair and gave him a glance.
"You know what it means, don't be like this, but I seriously
mean it, I like you,"
Kaian finally snapped out of his confusion.
"...Matthew? ...are you..." Kaian couldn't
finish.
"No Kaian, I was talking about how hot Seung Mina was not too long ago, I'm not gay, however I still do like
you," Matthew smiled moving closer to Kaian.
"You're a strange person you know that Matthew? Sometimes I just can't
understand you,"
"You know, I can now see why Kaolla loves you, and I can see why that other chick loved you,"
Kaian
couldn't register all this due to his alcohol level, usually he'd have punched Matthew by now...in the face, so hard that
it would break his nose. Matthew was now right beside him.
"I also want to know just one more thing, I want to know
how well you kiss,"
Kaian blinked, still somewhat confused while Matthew was just inches away from his face.
"Holy
shit...you have to be kidding, please tell me you're kidding,"
"But I'm not," Matthew put his hand around Kaian's
head with a drunken smirk on his face and pulled him in.
Kaian's eyes widened as both their lips met, the kiss was
warm, demanding, and above all, it felt rather sweet, even though he was kissing Matthew, he was lost, wondering what to do,
if he did kiss back, would it ruin his reputation? Could any of his goons be at the bar?
He scanned the room quickly
and seen no familiar faces, he seen no harm in doing so, so at that moment his and Matthew's tongue met in their mouths, Kaian
felt rather strange, kissing another person of the same sex, but it did make him feel daring.
They continued for a
moment or two before a slight throat clear made them stop. They pulled away from each other and looked up, and there stood
the waitress, holding Matthew's drink, with a wide grin on her face.
"Here's your drink sir, and you both have a nice
night," she said putting the drink on the table and walking off.
Matthew picked up his drink and drank a good portion
of it.
"That was a total mood kill, come on let's go play pool now" he said standing up and making his way to the
tables.
Kaian sat there, almost no expression on his face except for that dumbfounded look, and finally said.
"...Wow,"
