Hailey x Kaian

Hailey arrived at work, almost frozen due to the bitter winter day. She opened the door and walked in.

“Damn it’s cold out there,” she said to herself as she hung her coat up, “So how’s everyone doing?”

There were various murmurs throughout the room.

“Same as every day,” she sighed.

“Hailey! Hailey!” Allan, a new recruit to the mafia (only sixteen), said while running up to her.

Hailey turned around and looked at him.

“Kaian has more things for you to sort out…you know for hits,” Allan told her handing her a few papers.

“Thank you Allan, you’re doing pretty good for a newbie,” she replied taking the papers and heading toward Kaian’s office.

“Are you KIDDING ME?! Get out!” Kaian shouted pointing at the door, “I’d expect better from you Reggie,”

“Very well,” Reggie answered turning around and leaving the room.

“If there’s one thing I can’t stand its people who ask for raises, I give them enough money,” Kaian said to himself continuing to write down information.

Hailey walked in the room reading the papers, Kaian looked up.

“Hailey there you are, did you get the papers?” Kaian asked.

“Yeah but…I think even you could figure this out, it barely requires thinking,” Hailey replied looking at him.

“I know, I was just testing to see if you can figure it out, and you did, congratulations,” Kaian told her.

“…Alright then,” Hailey replied, “But, what was the point of it?”

She went on about the papers, while Kaian was just staring at her, lost.

“And…Kaian, what are you doing?” Hailey asked.

“Huh?” Kaian snapped out of it, “Oh, nothing,”

Kaian got out of his chair and went up to her.

“I’ve never noticed but…you’re eyes…they’re so…deep and full of emotions I thought you never had,” Kaian said to her.

   She looked away and smiled.

“Well, I thought no one would notice,” Hailey replied looking back at him.

Kaian ran his hand through her hair.

“And your hair, it’s so…luscious and nicely kept,” Kaian smiled.

   Hailey took a step back.

“Come on Kaian…be serious,” She scolded lightly.

“But it’s the truth,” Kaian told her, “if I wasn’t married,”

   Hailey rolled her eyes.

“Alright whatever, I have stuff to do, see you later Kaian,” She waved as she left his office.

“You just keep running Hailey, I’ll catch you,” Kaian thought as he sat back down at his desk.

Hailey walked in the hall toward her own office when Allan came running up to her again.

   “Hey! Hailey!” He shouted.

She turned around and looked at him as he stopped in front of her.

“Every time I see you you’re always running, what’s up?” Hailey asked him.

“Eh…heh…umm…hey listen…if you’re not…umm…I’ll talk to you later,” he stuttered, running off completely red with embarrassment.

“Hm,” Hailey smiled as she turned around and continued walking.

Later during the day, Allan was sitting down at a table with Gary, Phillip, and Daniel. They were in his group.

“Well would you look at that, Allan likes someone!” Phillip laughed, “Hey, I used to too, until I found out she was only fifteen, I was like, “SERIOUSLY!?” So I abandoned all thought about her and went on,”

“That explains why you’re so nervous come the weekend,” Gary smirked.

Allan was looking down at his lap, wondering what they’ll say next to humiliate him.

“Hey come on man,” Gary said to him patting his back, “I’m sure she’ll like you too if you just talk to her, you gotta quit being so silent and take the chance,”

“Yeah, you’re young enough,” Daniel added, “everyone else is either eighteen, nineteen or even twenty,”

Allan looked up, and scanned his group.

“…You’re right, I gotta quit being like this, if I work in the mafia, than I have to act like a regular,” he stood up with confidence, “I am going to go to her office, march right in, go up to her and say “I want to be with you forever!” That’s what I’ll say!”

Allan turned around, stopped and turned red, for Hailey had been right there listening since he stood up.

“Ehh…uhh…h-hi,” Allan greeted with great embarrassment.

“Is that true Allan? Do you really like me?” Hailey asked.

“…U-u-uhh…I-I…good bye!” He said as he darted off.

Hailey looked at him as he disappeared around the corner, and then looked at the others.

“WHY are you just sitting around doing NOTHING?! Get off your lazy asses and do these!” Hailey shouted dropping a large folder on the table, then walking off.

“Man…if I didn’t just turn eighteen,” Gary said.

Hailey went down the hall again and turned into Kaian’s office again.

“Did you get those people to do what I told you to tell them to do?” Kaian asked.

“Yeah, they’re sitting around being useless as usual,” Hailey replied.

“I should really dismiss them, but then again, the strength of people doesn’t matter, it’s the number of people you have,” Kaian said.

   “You know Kaian…I’ve been thinking,”

Kaian stood up and went over to her.

“Why do you hire all these guys anyway?” She asked.

“Because, I want to test and see their ability to follow things through to the end,” Kaian replied staring into her eyes.

Hailey stared back, it fell silent in the room for a few minutes.

“Wow Kaian…I just realized what you said earlier and-”

Kaian placed his finger on Hailey’s mouth.

“Shh…no more, express it they way you feel is best,” Kaian said softly.

He placed his arms around Hailey, and she did the same to him.

“Don’t worry Kaian, bosses kissing their employees is common,”

   “I know, I know,”

They closed their eyes and came together, their lips touched, it was a strange feeling for Hailey as she has not been kissed by anyone other than Icarus. Kaian went in closer, they were now in a state of pure solitude and silence, or so they thought.

“Ahem! Hailey…would you like to go out?” Allan asked himself just outside of Kaian’s office, “No no no, that won’t work…Hailey…do you want to…do something tonight? …Ehh…I’ll never get this down, how does everyone else do it?”

Hailey pulled back from Kaian and opened her eyes, but kept her arms around him.

   “Kaian…”

   “Mmm hmm,”

“I didn’t think that you’d have such a perfect kiss…Kaian…you can,” Hailey told him

“But…what if Icarus?” Kaian asked, somewhat chilled.

“He won’t mind, as long as it was fine by me,” Hailey answered.

“…Well…alright then, if that’s what you want,”

“Show me how good you are,”

In the hall, Allan was pacing outside the closed door, still trying to think of something to say.

“…I got it! Are you busy? Do you want to go out? …Nah,” He said scratching his head, “Wow…this is hard, so confusing,”

He stopped to think for a moment.

“…What if…” he looked at the closed door beside him, “what if she’s already married to Kaian? …No no, she’s only fifteen, that’s impossible…but what if she’s with Kaian?”

He remained silent for a moment, thinking of the possibilities…when he heard something behind the door.

“…What’s that?” Allan asked himself as he put his ear up against the door.

“You shouldn’t do that you know,” A voice behind him said.

Allan jumped and turned around and seen Gary standing there.

“If you have to talk to him just go right in,” he told him as he walked back into the main room.

   “Eh heh, thanks,” Allan thought.

He turned around and put his hand on the doorknob.

“What if I’m interrupting something?” He thought, “Maybe this isn’t the best time…no, NO! I will learn to build my self-confidence here! Okay, stop thinking to yourself and open the door…it ain’t gonna open by itself…here it goes,”

   He turned the doorknob.

“…He might be doing something important…I might get discharged from this place…and I don’t want to…just do it already! Okay, here it goes,”

He pushed on the door, looked inside, then immediately pulled his head back out and shut the door.

“He was…” Allan said while sinking to the floor, “Aww…I knew they were together, damn…soon, soon,”

Allan stood up and walked down the hall looking at the floor as he went.

“Hmm…Kaian…you really know how to hit the spot just right,” Hailey told him.

“Yeah…I get that a lot,” He said getting off his desk.

Hailey sat up and looked at him.

“You’re better than Icarus,” she smiled.

“You think so?” Kaian asked pulling his pants up.

   “…I know so,”

Kaian looked at her, picked up her clothes and gave them to her.

“Here, put them on, and I’ll see you tomorrow, that is…if you’re coming tomorrow,” Kaian said to her.

“I will, don’t worry,” she replied putting her clothes on too.

A moment later Hailey was clothed and stood up.

“If you’re not busy tomorrow, you want to again?” Kaian asked.

“Well, not tomorrow, I’ll have to catch up on what I missed today,” she answered.

“Don’t worry about that, I’ll do it for you, you can just stay with me tomorrow,” Kaian persuaded.

“Well…alright,” Hailey replied, “I’ll see you tomorrow then,”

   Kaian hugged and kissed her.

“Good bye,” He said to her.

They broke away from each other after a few seconds, and Hailey left the room.

“Hailey!” Allan called out at her again.

She turned around and looked at him.

“Yeah? What’s up?” Hailey asked him.

“Umm…do…you…want to…go out?” He asked nervously.

   Hailey smiled.

“Everyone gets a chance, you get next week,” she told him turning around and left the hall.

Allan stood there, amazed by what he had just heard.

   “…I…wow,”

Hailey opened the door to her room and was greeted by Icarus.

“So how was it today?” He asked.

“Umm…it was one of my best days,” Hailey replied simply.

   Icarus smirked.

   “Just like last Saturday,”
